BRINSOP COURT

DESCRIPTION + /

Moated house, set around a courtyard. The northern, entrance, range is the earliest, built between circa 1300 and 1330. The south range dates from the mid 14th century, with the western half possibly remodelled in the early 16th century. Traces of a low west range, probably dating from the 14th century, survive but this was replaced by a higher, timber framed, range in the mid 16th century. The southern half of this range was rebuilt in the late 17th century and the courtyard side was refaced in brick in the mid 18th century. The present east range was built in 1913.
