Summary : Possible moat or degraded motte with moat. Field investigation carried out in 1969 located moat remains on the west and north sides of an oval island with a causeway in the north-west. The moat is 0.8 metres deep and the island rises some 1.6 metres out of it. The island measures 30 metres by 35 metres across the top.

Moat, partly wet enclosing an oval island which rises 4 ft above
the surrounding ground. (2)

The moat remains on the west and north sides of the oval island with a causeway in the north-west. The moat is 0.8m deep and the island rises some 1.6m out of it. The island measures 30.0m by 35.0m across the top.
Resurveyed at 1:2500. (3)

Site identified by D J Cathcart King as a "very low motte" with wet moat. (4)
