Summary : The earthwork and buried remains of a small motte castle, formerly interpretted as a round barrow, situated on a south east facing slope above a tributary of Wellington Brook. The remains include an earthen motte mound, roughly circular, circa 28 metres in diameter at the base and circa 17 metres in diameter at the top. The motte is steep-sided and has a flat top, which is circa 2.4 metres high in the west and circa 1.7 metres high in the east. Scheduled.

Mound, 9ft high and planted with trees, is 30 yds in diameter
at the base and 19 yds at the top. (2)

Listed as a round barrow. (3)

The tree-covered round barrow, at SO 44254895, is 2.4m high in the west and 1.7m high in the east. The diameter across the top is 17.0m and 28.0m at the base.
