East Barras is the site of a Mediaeval gate through the Bishops Dyke
(Lin 63) where the road passes through at spot height 178 (2a).
Possibly one of the Dalston-Barrs mentioned temp Edward VI
(AD 1547-1553) (3). (2)

No visible remains apart from the gap in the bank where the modern
road crosses. (4)
