Summary : Probable enclosed (possibly moated) homestead scheduled as a motte. The site consists of an oval mound with steep sides and a level summit measuring approximately 40m north south by 25m east west. Surrounded by a ditch on all except the south west side (where there is a brook). The ditch is 5m wide and up to 2m deep. There is a causeway across the ditch in the north east quarter. Scheduled.

"TUMP.... a roughly oval mound, 50' x 43' surrounded by a dry ditch except on the SW where there is a natural slope towards the brook. The mound has an average height of 12' above the bottom of the ditch and traces of a causeway on the NE side; S of this causeway a short length of the outer scarp of the ditch forms an isolated bank with a slight ditch on the three outer sides. On the top of the mound are three small platforms. Condition - Fairly Good". Plan p XXXIV. Recommended for preservation - p XXVIII. (2)

An early medieval moated site to the E of Boweston Court Wood. (3)

An oval enclosure 36.0m long NNW - SSE and 20.0m wide, situated on a small promontory in the N angle between two valleys. A curved ditch averaging 2.0 m deep isolates the promontory in the N and there is an entrance in the E between the artifical and natural defences. The platforms within the enclosure referred to by RCHM can no longer be identified with any certainty in the undergrowth.
