More information : The cropmark of a rectangular enclosure is visible at SE 6561 3329. The enclosure is approximately 50m by 30m and has internal subdivisions at its north-western end. In one of these subdivisions there is a possible hut circle. To the south-east of the enclosure at SE 6573 3313, there is a group of larger, conjoined, rectangular enclosures. These enclosures are quite regular in nature and may represent fields of some kind. Possible Iron Age/Roman date. (1-1a)
The features described above are part of a much larger complex, centred at SE 6589 3312, which extends for 700 metres, aligned in a north-west to south-east direction. (2-3) |
