Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, the parish church built in the C12th. The Augustinian Priory, (SP58SE41), was founded in the C12th, the nuns building their own church as an extension of the parish church involving the demolition of the church's apse. Following the Dissolution, the Priory was demolished and a new square East end built onto the chancel. The present apse was built on the line of the former apse in 1887. Grade I.(2) |
