Summary : Earthworks of a post Medieval platform, possibly associated with the Civil War town defences, have been identified from aerial photographs in Christchurch Meadow at Christchurch College.
More information : The following feature was mapped from poor quality air photographs:-

A possible Post Medieval platform, 100m by 60m, approximately 20m to the north of the River Thames, centred at SP 5168 0550, was seen as earthworks. This feature may relate to the Civil War Defences as described in SP 50 NW 39.
