More information : (SO 345624) Hill Fort (NR) (1) Wapley Camp, a hillfort at the end of a spur. Multivallate on the E and S, where the approach is more open, and bivallate (two scarps) on N. There are two original entrances on the N and S: two others (E-W) are probably modern. Inside the fort are three pillow mounds, and there are said to be three others in the thick undergrowth lower down the hillside on the S. (2)
The hillfort is as described but the three pillow mounds to the south could not be located due to afforestation. (3)

This area was mapped at 1:10,000 scale as part of the Marches Uplands Mapping project which was carried out by the Air Photography Unit of the RCHME between 1992 and 1993. The Iron Age hillfort of Wapley Camp was seen as earthworks on good quality air photographs. Morphological description: an asymmetric, triangular enclosure, 420m by 200m, defined by 2 ditches and 3 banks, with 3 sides and 1 entrance facing south.
