DESCRIPTION + /

Terrace of five-roomed cottages in Farringdon Road, the Railway Village. The terrace was designed by Brunel and constructed in 1847. This was the last large terrace to be building on the eastern side of the village, and offered more superior accomodation than the other terraces. They were designed to accomodate single families probably of foremen, possibly in conjunction with lodgers. The rear yard contained a wash house, privy and dust hole. The houses were modified in 1896 and renovated in 1974. They are constructed of stone ashlar and rubble, brick with slate roofs.
