More information : A possible Medieval embanked enclosure and an associated boundary bank were seen as earthworks and mapped from good quality air photographs. Three sides of the enclosure, up to 180m long, are visible centred at TF 4850 6769. Adjacent, and running almost parallel to Welton Beck, is a bank, 350m long. The relationship between the enclosure and the bank is unclear. The bank may be a boundary and/or a flood control or earlier straightening of the beck. The function of the enclosure is not clear.
