More information : Medieval settlement remains were seen as earthworks, around the present village of Stroxton, and mapped from good quality air photographs. The remains of tofts and crofts are visible as conjoined embanked enclosures, on the north and south facing slopes of a valley, centred at SK 9080 3133. A hollow way, 110m long, is visible, at the east end of the tofts, centred at SK 9092 3132. Adjacent are the remains of three buildings. These are defined by rectangular embanked enclosures, measuring 5m by 5m and 10m by 10m, centred at SK 9095 3136, SK 9091 3133 and SK 9089 3133. Two platforms are also visible, at the east and west ends of the tofts, centred at SK 9092 3132 and SK 9067 3123. More fragments of tofts and crofts are visible, east of Church Farm, centred at SK 9051 3121. The remains of buildings are visible between Church Farm and the church. At least five buildings and associated boundaries are visible centred at SK 9038 3105 and SK 9035 3107. Two blocks of ridge and furrow are visible, to the east of the Medieval settlement, centred at SK 9107 3135 and SK 9103 3153. (Morph No. LI.734.1.1-14, 2.1)
