More information : The following features were seen as cropmarks on the NW side of the present village of Ruskington and mapped from good quality air photographs:-
A length of road of probable Roman date, defined by the cropmarks of two side ditches and an agger between runs SE-NW for 1100m from TF 0746 5162 to TF 0712 5251. There is a suggestion that the agger continues further north for at least 150m to TF 0707 5265 but it is much less clearly seen and no side ditches are visible. Two E-W side roads, 220m and 170m in length and defined by ditches, meet the main road on the west at TF 0721 5225 and TF 0715 5240. A possible third side road is also recorded at the point where the main road becomes less clear, at TF 0708 5258. The main SE-NW section of this road is a probable continuation of that recorded on the south of Ruskington as TF 04 NE 38. (Morph No. LI.851.41.1-4)
