Summary : Early prehistoric worked flint and Neolithic pottery were found during excavations carried out at Bury Close Roman villa (SP 31 NE 10) in 1986-87.
More information : (SP 37151691) During excavations carried out at Bury Close Roman villa (SP 31 NE 10) in 1986-87, shallow gullies were identified and earlier prehistoric worked flint and Mortlake pottery was recovered. This has been interpreted as evidence for an occupation site in the valley bottom, close to the river. (1)
