More information : Medieval settlement earthwork remains were mapped from poor quality air photographs. The focus of the settlement is a trackway that starts at TF 2788 6621 and is aligned east west until it forks at TF 2811 6621, one arm of which extends northwwards for 170m and the other eastwards for 80m. To the south of this (TF 2809 617) is a polygonal enclosure measuring 100m by 70m. In its south west corner the foundations of a rectangular building are visible. To the north of this are a series of crofts and tofts one of which contains another building at TF 2817 6622. More possible crofts of a fragmentary nature are visible further west at TF 2781 6630.
This settlement lies in close proximity to another Medieval settlement, see TF 26 NE 50 and 11. The relationship with the latter is not clear. An extensive area of ridge and furrow is situated between the two but is not clear where the boundary lies between the two field systems.
