More information : The fragmentary remains of Medieval settlement and an extensive field system were seen as earthworks, around the present village of Hainton, and mapped from good quality air photographs. Fragments of crofts are visible to the west and east of School Lane, centred at TF 1800 8470 and TF 1819 8465. A field system, consisting of ridge and furrow surrounds the village. There are blocks of ridge and furrow west as far as TF 1700 8430, south as far as TF 1800 8370, and north as far as TF 1840 8490. A hollow way, 600m long, approaches the settlement from the west and is centred at TF 1738 8453. Part of one of the blocks of ridge and furrow has been destroyed by probably modern quarrying or digging centred at TF 1837 8461. (Morph No. LI.162.2.1-8, 4.1-6.1, 7.1-3, 8.1-10.1)
