Summary : Medieval motte and bailey, surviving as an earthwork in good condition. The motte is a flat topped mound 7 metres high 32 metres in diameter at the base and 12 metres in diameter at the top. The bailey measures 24 by 28 metres internally. To its north is a steep bank to a stream and on the south and east is a bank and outer ditch. At the south western corner is a 3 metre wide causeway giving access to the bailey. Scheduled.

A motte and bailey known as 'The Moat'. The motte is 24 feet high with an 8 feet deep ditch. The bailey consists of a 6 feet high rampart with a 4 feet deep ditch. (see plan). (2-3)

A well preserved motte and bailey stands above the steep bank of a stream in the Teme valley. The motte is 7.2m in height from the bottom of the surrounding ditch, which is 2.6m deep; the flat summit is 10.0m in diameter. The bailey to the south-east is 30.0m in diameter, and is enclosed by a bank 1.4m in height internally, and up to 4.0m in height above the external ditch. The entrance to the bailey is on the west, adjoining the motte.

The motte and bailey described above was seen as earthworks, partially obscured by trees, on aerial photographs and was mapped during the Marches Uplands Mapping Project. (7)
