| More information : A route through a populous prehistoric and Romano-British region, which was probably a trackway from early times and was certainly used, and probably built up in parts, in the Roman period. Little structural evidence, but the existence of the Roman settlement at the western end, and the various sites and finds along its length leave no doubt as to the route's Romano-British relevance.
