Summary : Several sections of the Roman road Ermine Street were seen as cropmarks and earthworks.
More information : Several sections of the Roman road Ermine street have been mapped
from good quality air photographs.

The agger of the road was visible as a cropmark of a substantial bank
from SK 9376 2432 to SK 9376 2542. The northern 200m of this section
was visible as an earthwork on the earlier photography. The road
then continues north and is visible as a cropmark in four further
sections from SK 9377 2563 to SK 9375 2600, SK 9374 2612 to
SK 9374 2636, SK 9377 2665 to SK 9377 2693, and SK 9386 2862 to
SK 9389 2895. (Morph No. LI.793.1.1-2)
