More information : This is the head-dyke extending from NT 9850 1188 to NT 9959 1299, which demarcates the upper limits of medieval cultivation typified by broad rig. It is of sod-cast construction comprising a turf-covered bank, up to 4.0 m wide and 0.7 m high, with a less significant ditch generally 0.2 m deep on the uphill (NW) side, which is discernible for most of its length.
