(TQ 5762 0224) In March 1995, RCHME carried out an analytical earthwork survey of the causewayed enclosure on Combe Hill (TQ 50 SE 12) as part of the Project to record Industry and Enclosure in the Neolithic Period. The Bronze Age barrows in the immediate vicinity of the enclosure were also surveyed (TQ 50 SE 11, 13). The ring or disc barrow was previously recorded as part of TQ 50 SE 13, and was assigned a new NMR number to enhance the record.

Curwen (1a) originally termed the barrow a disc barrow, but Grinsell (1b) termed it a ring barrow on the grounds of its small size and the apparent absence of a central tump. However, RCHME recorded vestigial traces of its (slightly acentral) position. It appears to overlie an outermost element of the causewayed enclosure. The barrow is slightly below the scarp edge and is invisible from the north. It is 20.0m in diameter, formed by an external bank 2.0m wide and 0.3m high with an internal ditch 3.0m wide and 0.2m deep. Curwen's percussion technique suggested that there had been a central pit.
