Turret 78A was identified on the ground in 1948. It lies 100ft north-west of the west corner of Kirkland farm-buildings, in the line of hedge bordering the south side of the road to Port Carlisle. (2)

There is no surface trace of the turret in the area NY 2431 6175. (4)
