MONUMENT NO. 1012548

DESCRIPTION + /

The possible site of Roman temple(s). Several fragments from Roman altars found on Chapel Hill suggest that the hill was the site of a number of temples, although only two have been proven.

A number of fragmentary banks defining enclosures or structures are visible on and around Chapel Hill; these may represent the remains of the temples. The hill has been terraced in areas; some of terracing accommodates post roman cultivation.
