Summary : Site of royal chapel and hermitage which stood to the north of the hall at Bristol Castle.
More information : ST593731 Chapel and Hermitage. The King's private chapel stood at the north side of the hall. In 1249 Henry III gave orders for its improvement, for a door to be made in the chancel leading to the hermitage, and for an altar to St Edmond to be erected in the hermitage. (1-2)
